IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO Review [2021]: It Actually Works!

In this IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO review, I will give you an overview of what the software can do, how much it costs and what I like (and don’t like) about it.

I’ll also run a test to see if it actually does help improve your computer’s performance.

Note, I’ll be using IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO version 14 for this review.

So, let’s get started.

What is IObit Advanced SystemCare?

IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO homepage

IObit’s Advanced SystemCare is a piece of software available for Windows machines that can optimize and cleanup your system.

How does it do this?

Advanced SystemCare’s main job is to get rid of any unnecessary files that are dragging your system’s performance down. The end goal is a snappier performance.

IObit Advanced SystemCare pricing

There are three pricing plans to pick from, including a completely free version:

  • Advanced SystemCare Free – $0
  • Advanced SystemCare PRO (1 PC) – $16.77 per year
  • Advanced SystemCare PRO (3 PC) – $19.99 per year

If you do decide to go for the PRO version, then IObit do offer a 60-day money back guarantee if you decide the Advanced SystemCare isn’t the product for you.

Obviously, if you want to use IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO on more than one PC, then it makes sense to go for the $19.99 version – this will save you around $30 compared with purchasing 3 individual licences.

Features of IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO

IObt Advanced SystemCare PRO comes with a lot of features to help fine-tune your system’s performance.

The main features can be separated into 4 different areas.

  1. Care – Detect and fix a range of issues
  2. Speed Up – Adjust items to speed up your startup times
  3. Protection – A selection of tools to protect your system, browser and sensitive data
  4. Software Updater – Automatically update out-of-date software

Care

Perhaps the main feature of IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO is their Care abilities.

There are 2 modes in this area: AI Mode or Manual Mode. AI Mode automatically detects issues based on your system’s current status, whereas in Manual Mode you have the control to select what areas to scan.

After performing a scan, the software will then advise the most suitable ways to deal with issues. For example, they recommend deleting old files in your internet browser’s download folder to get some precious space back – this is something that can easily build up!

For this review, I did run a scan in AI Mode. You can read how this went further on in this IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO review.

Speed Up

The Speed Up area is all about preventing unnecessary programs from running.

By turning off any programs you don’t need, you’ll in turn free up your system’s RAM, which will lead to more room for performance.

It’s worth noting that some features in this area will require you to download and install additional IObit software. For example, the Hardware Accelerator requires the Driver Booster to update out-of-date drivers.

Protection

As the name suggestions, Protection contains a range of features that helps protect your system, browser and sensitive data from being attacked.

You have the control to turn these features on or off by flicking the switch.

Notable features include an ad blocker, spyware protection and spam email detection.

IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO Protect

Note, the Antivirus Protection and Firewall Protection are both turned on for me since the IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO detects that I already have this on my system. IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO does not include an antivirus or firewall; to get these, you will need to go for the Advanced SystemCare Ultimate.

Software Updater

The Software Updater is a feature where the IObit Advanced SystemCare will notify you if you have any out-of-date software on your computer.

This is particularly handy if you have a lot of software on your computer. Instead of launching each one separately, you can instantly see on this tab which software are in need of an update. Even more, clicking the Update button will automatically start the update process!

Does IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO actually work?

I decided to put the IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO through its paces to see if it can actually improve my computer’s performance.

Of note, I’m reviewing this on my laptop, which boasts a fairly average set of specifications.

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-6500U @ 2.98GHz
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 520
  • Memory: 12GB DDR3
  • Operating system: Windows 10 Home

To test the difference in performance, I decided to use Novabench, which is a benchmarking tool. Essentially, Novabench runs a series of quick tests to give you an approximation of your system’s performance; the higher the Novabench score, the better the overall performance.

Before installing IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO, I ran Novabench and got an overall score of 845.

Novabench score before IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO

After installing IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO, I let the software scan my laptop to see what it could optimise.

I ran the search in AI Mode, which took around 5 minutes to complete. IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO then said it recommends fixing 167126 items in order to get a faster system; doing so should also free up 3.7 GB of disk space!

So with all that cleaned up, I then relaunched Novabench to run another test.

And, to my surprise, I then got a Novabench overall score of 902!

So, after the IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO cleaned up my laptop, it resulted in a:

  • 7% increase in the overall score
  • 3% increase in the CPU score
  • 3% increase in the RAM score
  • 5% increase in GPU score
  • 80% increase in disk score

To sum up, IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO really does optimize your system and increases performance!

3 things I love about IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO

After playing around with the software for a week, I’ve gathered some of my thoughts about what I like about it.

It actually works!

I’ll be honest, I was quite pessimistic about trying the IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO because I just didn’t think it would do anything – I thought it was a gimmick.

To my surprise, it did actually declutter my computer and free up some valuable disk space – a sort of Spring clean, if you will.

It’s user friendly

I was glad to see the interface was really clean and user friendly.

There’s nothing worse when you get overloaded with technical jargon, especially if you’re not an advanced tech wizard – like myself!

It’s cheap!

If you’re after a software that can optimize your computer, then the IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO is certainly one of the cheapest on the market.

For under $20, you get access to a lot of tools in this suite. Personally, I think it’s a good investment to keep your computer in great shape.

3 things I don’t like about IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO

So, those were my likes about the software. Let me know elaborate on some of my dislikes.

Quite a few add-ons

For me, I consider Advanced SystemCare a suite of tools. However, a lot of their features are considered separate add-ons (some a free and some are paid).

IObit Advanced SystemCare PRO Toolbox

Personally, I would like to see the software already come with these features installed, without having to do it yourself.

I suppose the upside of this is giving you greater control over the things you need and don’t need.

Software Updater is limited

When I looked at my Software Updater tab, I can see only 9 programs on the list. This is considerably less than the actual number of programs I have on my laptop.

I found the Software Updater tool very useful; however since it does not list all of the programs on my laptop, it was a little disappointing.

It would be great in the future if all programs are covered by this feature.

Some features are unknown to me

It’s great that you can switch on these awesome features with a simple flick of a switch. But, I’m sometimes left wondering what is actually happening behind the scenes when I do this.

Take the Access Blocker for example. I know this has something to do with protecting my sensitive data; however, when I switched this on, nothing else happens. So, what does it actually do?

It would be great if each feature had a learn more icon or something attached so users can understand a bit more about what is actually happening when you switch things on.
